SIX
SONGS FROM POEMS BY ERNST CHRISTIAN PACHER First
performance by JUTTA GEISTER, soloist of Vienna State Opera House,
1997 in Vienna. Further performances by American alto MARTHA
JANE HOWE, including 2000 in Vienna, Alte Schmiede and 2001 in
Birmingham, Alabama. The
poems of ERNST CHRISTIAN PACHERS who died
age 21 are dark and full of a desire for death. In an ingenious and
virtuous Form they describe how the orphan PACHER failed to make his way
in our hostile world. His former class mate´s poems were for ROBERT
POBITSCHKA the prime mover for his own work as composer. COSMOS
JAPANESE GARDEN Piano,
parts of the piece also for Koto. Commissioned by the
Japanese Gardening Association, Tokyo for the opening of the
Japanese Garden at Vienna -
Schönbrunn Palace Park. The titels of the five parts: Entering the Garden
- With the Protection Gods - Water, Flowers and Birds - Prof.
Harada (President of the Japanese Gardening Association) brings the Garden
to life with a magic wand – Japanese/Austrian Talk in the Tea House. First
performance of the Koto version during the opening celebrations at Schönbrunn
Palace by SATOMI HIDAKA and TOMOKO MITSUISHI. First performance of the
piano version by the composer at the opening banquette in Hotel Imperial,
Vienna. Further performances include
Vienna (United Nations, Alte Schmiede), Moskow (Vladimir Spivakov
Foundation), Prague, Cape Town, Templo di Sol/Cusco, Peru, Venice. Japanese
Gardens not only provide a charming view to the eye or an aesthetic
pleasure. They serve the purpose to enable inner concentration and sensing
of the spiritual powers behind creation´s outer forms. They help to give
power and peace.
The
philosophy behind creates respect for the visible as well as for the
invisible nature and therefore can be seen as a power that fights against
the destruction of our planet. Broadcast

Affairs und OSCE - Chairman in Office Miguel Angel Moratinos
Cuyaube. The
argument that we must protect nature only to save the human environment
includes a fundamental misjudgement. Nature consists of eons of organisms
which have consciousness and
feelings. They are done an injustice by the human race. They deserve
protection, respect and recognition.

Palace, Vienna under the patronage of the Spanish Minister for Foreign
Affairs und OSCE - Chairman in Office Miguel Angel Moratinos Cuyaube. MIRA
ALEKSANDRA STEFANOV paints almost exclusively the sea. Her paintings are
dark, dramatic and often seem to be without resolution – like a dark
trauma of the soul. They also reflect the force of healing and change –
both symbolized in the almost infinite reservoir of power contained in
water and the sea. PRAYER
FOR THE UNITED NATIONS Speaker
and piano. First performed by the composer in Vienna, Mexikoplatz Kirche
in November 2003. Recitation: Prof. Lisa Schüller. Also performed the
same year in Cape Town, speaker: JOY GEORGE. SONGS
FROM TWELVE PEACE PRAYERS Piano
and voice. Commissioned for International Day for Tolerance 2004. First
performed by American soprano ANDREA LAUREN BROWN 16th
November
2004 Danube Cultural Center in
Vienna.
In
1986 in Assisi, Italy, for the first time in history the leaders of twelve
world religions met to discuss aspects of inter-religious dialogue and
understanding. Each of them brought a peace prayer from their own religion
to the meeting. The peace songs are based on those twelve prayers.
"ATLANTIA
AWAKES" Ballet
for soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra based on the poem by FRAN
EVE WRIGHT. Studio recording of the music by ANDREA LAUREN
BROWN, soprano, ANDREAS JANKOWITSCH, baritone, the Vienna Chamber Choir
und an ensemble of members of the Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO),
Vienna Conductor: MICHAEL GROHOTOLSKY. First performance of the
ballet at the opening of the International Ballet Seminar
in Wolfsegg (25th anniversary)
organized by Gesellschaft für Musiktheater, Vienna in cooperation with
the International Theater Institute of UNESCO on 29th Juli 2007.
Choreographer and dancer: ALAIN MICHIGAN. We
are on the verge of destroying our planet. Is the history of the earth a
permanent and ongoing repetition of certain
patterns of behaviour? Did the population of Atlantis destroy their
environment by misuse of technical possibilities? Is there any
memory of Atlantis in our subconsciousness? Do we participate in a cosmic
chronicle that contains all the stories as well as the power of healing? WATER
IS LIFE -
Inspired by a paintings of ZHAO YU SHENG String
orchestra and soprano. First performed by ANDREA LAUREN BROWN and
the First Women´s Chamber Orchestra of Austria, the composer conducting
in celebration of International Women´s Day and World Water Day
2007 at the Ceremonial Hall, Hofburg Palace, Vienna
under the patronage of the Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs und
OSCE - Chairman in Office Miguel Angel Moratinos Cuyaube. In
a spiritual as well as in the biological sense water is the origin and
fundamental condition for life. Any threat to the integrity of water is a
threat to the very foundation of life on earth. So it must be the
responsibility of music and the arts to raise awareness of and respect for
this holy element. WATER
